Microblading - What is it?

So, this is something that has really taken off in the UK but has been around for around 30 years.

Its real name is Eyebrow Embroidery, it came from Asia and has now travelled the seas and is upon us, finally! We call it microblading as the tool we use is a micro blade. We love to change things.

It's a form of semi-permanent tattooing and can last between 1 and 3 years. It's relatively painless depending on your sensitivity to pain. Most people say from 1-10 (1 being the least painful) it is a round 2 and others say 4, but never usually more than 4.

The micro blade is used to create a tiny well in the upper layers of the skin to allow the pigment to sit in. The skin then starts to heal over the course of 3 - 4 weeks, some skin will retain 100% of the pigment and other skin may retain less, or even no pigment. Everyone's skin reacts differently. You will then have a top-up session around 4-6 weeks after the first, to fill in any gaps or to put back what has been lost. This second session is very important for longevity and to correct colour etc. The pigment in the skin may heal warm or cool, or perfectly neutral, so the top up is another chance to correct any unwanted tones.
